Convection Microwave Oven

Today probably all people have heard of the microwave oven and most even has one at home as a standard appliance. Many younger generations could not imagine life without the possibility of creating an instant meal whenever they feel like it and has come to depend on this marvellous piece of technology. But few know what the microwave convection oven is. The microwave convection is no successor to the ordinary microwave since it has been in use for dozens of years. It is neither the precursor of the microwave oven we know today. The microwave convection is simply the brother or maybe cousin of our ordinary household appliance, capable of much more than the ordinary microwave oven. Microwave convection oven – The regular microwave oven

The regular microwave oven simply heats food by the means of microwave radiation. Typically water molecules are not actually balanced but have a positive and negative side when it comes to electrical charge. This slight shift is what the microwaves target, setting the water molecules into a spinning motion. When bumping into other molecules heat is created through sheer friction, leaving everything else, including the air inside the microwave oven, at room temperature. The microwave convection oven works a little different than that.

Microwave convection oven – The regular convection oven

The regular convection oven looks more or less like your standard oven you have at home but works somewhat different. The idea of the convection oven is that hot air, instead of heaters, is cooking the food. To think of it sort of like a blow-dryer with extremely hot air is an adequate comparison. The convection oven is used in restaurants instead for regular ovens because it is much easier to control the heat inside the convection oven while cooking the food evenly. It uses a lot less heat than a regular oven and cuts the cooking time considerably. Once again is the microwave convection oven a little bit different.

Microwave convection oven – A combination

The major problem with a regular microwave oven is that you will never get that crust that you want. That is because the microwave oven really is not using heat but simply microwaves. The convection oven is a neat idea that can direct flows of hot air but works to much as a regular oven to be worth the effort other than in a restaurant kitchen. But a combination of them is an excellent idea, the microwave convection oven is born. The microwave convection oven actually cooks the food as a microwave oven but has hot air fans that give the food some crust and cooking texture. It is perfect to use when speedy but yet professional cooking is needed. Therefore the microwave convection oven is perfect in restaurants or in industrial uses. Problem is that is can be somewhat expensive and therefore it is not as common in the average kitchen as many would wish. But do not fear, in a couple of years the microwave convection oven might be cheap enough and then we all could enjoy the thrill of cooking as a first class chef.
